You’ve heard it before, “Eating breakfast is the most important part of the day…” but, is that really true? Here, it will be discussed the myths, the lies, and the truth on eggs and what happens if we do eat them on a daily basis.  Medical professor and cardiologist, Peter Schulman, MD, was reported saying in Health magazine that it can be a confusing discussion. Despite all the confusion of the heart and the health of our bodies, when we eat eggs for breakfast daily, there are some factors to consider regarding one of America’s favorite breakfast foods.

One of the topics when discussing foods to eat for breakfast on a daily basis is eggs and if it can affect our heart and health in the long run. In fact, many people aren’t thinking about their heart during breakfast time. Indeed there are myths which surface around the eggs over time. This continues to be an overdrawn discussion in the health community.

The myth

Here’s a breakdown on the number one myth regarding eating eggs on a daily basis. Let’s bust the egg cholesterol myth as Dr. Natalie Azar, contributing medical expert for the Today show. Eating eggs have so much cholesterol, it simply isn’t healthy for us to eat them, plus it’s really bad for our hearts. In fact, it raises our cholesterol so much but the fact is, it’s not true. Eggs have saturated fats within it so because of it, the US dietary guidelines once said we needed 300 mg of dietary cholesterol daily and now they’ve changed it. Back in 2016, it’s recommended by the FDA to remove it from our daily diet. That is our daily cholesterol should be less than 300 mg.

The fact of serum cholesterol

What is important is the “serum cholesterol” that are found in our blood which the optimal numbers doctors are looking at. The average serum cholesterol number is 180 milligrams. This is a good number to have on a daily basis when it comes to our serum cholesterol in our blood. All in all, it may seem that the cholesterol may have contributions to heart disease, such as eating yolks. This is one of main elements health experts say we should be cautious of only because of the abundance of minerals, proteins, and vitamins eggs have. On the other hand, doctors and nutritionists alike will say that it’s NOT dangerous to have eggs on a daily basis. But, some others may disagree because of how you eat them and with what you eat the eggs with.

“When we eat eggs, the cholesterol, it’s broken down in the gut; it’s not absorbed as a whole cholesterol molecule,” Schulman says. While the saturated fats do break down into “short chains of fatty acids” which will become linked to the body,” it increases ‘cholesterol levels significantly.

A study which resulted in about “half a million Chinese people” who had links between the eggs and their heart health was conducted years ago. It showed that each ate an average of one egg a day. Although, the relative connection between the two isn’t really bad. Yet, there were results of it being good, unless given a “three-egg omelet” daily which naturally will result in high cholesterol through over time.

Benefits of eggs

There are a number of benefits on why you should eat at least two eggs a day. One is that it helps with the deficiency of choline in the brain. This is the phospholipids that ensure the communication of the cells in the brain are working. This is a vitamin that helps with the building materials of the brain. It also helps with your eyesight. Vitamin D is what will be found from eating eggs daily as well. Chicken eggs help with our bones and teeth. It also helps with Vitamin B12 while helping our skin and our hair. It also helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular problems and cancer. One of the best things about it is that it helps you look younger. The aging process is slowed down and the wrinkles around your eyes will fade. Nevertheless, these are the main benefits of eating at least 2 eggs a day.

Other elements of this diet

Nevertheless, eating eggs daily may also have relative connections of various factors when the person has certain habits which could be bad for the individual to consume. For example, if he/she smokes or exercises daily, plus it could be a contributing factor to other health issues. Another element to consider when eating breakfast on a daily basis is eating eggs with bacon or eggs with buttered toast on a daily basis. Obviously, the grease and the butter can cause a lot of cholesterol problems over a long period of time. The combination of what may linger after eating so many eggs, whether the individual has various bad habits while eating them daily, will be a cause for concern.

Two great egg recipes

Consequently, when eating eggs on a daily basis, one of the best things to consider is to make a recipe vary differently from the other so you can have a diverse group of foods when eating the eggs for breakfast. With that in mind, here are 2 great “egg eating” recipes recommended by some of the world’s finest chefs.

1. SUPER SCRAMBLED EGG -Bacon, egg, onion, and cheese make the perfect “super scrambled egg” taco! It tastes great and it’s easy to make. After prepping your onion by cutting it, cook the bacon. Once it’s cooked, throw in the eggs and onion and warm up your flour tortillas. Mix it all so as to have the juices flavor up the eggs and onion bits. Add the egg mixture into your warmed up flour tortilla and sprinkle some shredded cheese over it and “wha-lah!” You have a health super scrambled egg taco on-the-fly! 2. AVOCADO EGG BREAKFAST – Preheat your oven at 425 degrees F. and while your oven is preheating, cut your avocado lengthwise and in half. Then remove the pit. Next, you can crack the egg into the hole but make sure it’s steady up on a pie tray or upright so as not to spill. Then, sprinkle some pepper and salt to taste on top of the egg. Bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until egg is cooked. (See recipe at https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/breakfast/egg-breakfast/avocado-egg-breakfast.html)

Finally, eating eggs daily may cause a health problem if that is the only thing that is eaten for breakfast daily. It’s natural to assume that what will happen to the body if there are health problems the individual may have that may be considered.
